Mart first wrote Hidden Truths as a short story for her daughter’s nineteenth birthday. Research for the story inspired her non-fiction book: The Legend of Bigfoot: Leaving His Mark on the World (Indiana University Press, 2020).

In Hidden Truths, a Living Lore Novel, eighteen-year-old Ellie Mae finds herself amidst a conspiratorial group of loved ones and wonders if freedom, or more heartache, is found in truth.

Tammera Mart grew up a street rat in the small state-divided town of Union City, Ohio and began writing as a teenager to escape into worlds where hurting teens overcame obstacles using faith, grit, and resilience. Her first writing award and publication came in a local county magazine at age sixteen. Since then, she’s won several writing awards and published many true-to-life stories in various venues. Today, working as a licensed social worker, Mart writes for joy instead of escape. Daily encounters with incredible people help shape her stories and characters.
